Dr. Scott Hale and Pierre Conti will share their expertise and insights at this year’s GlobalFact hybrid conference.
GlobalFact 10 is the ten-year anniversary of the Global Fact-Checking Summit hosted by the International Fact-Checking Network(IFCN) at the Poynter Institute in collaboration with SNUFactCheck. As an organization that builds digital media tools for technologists, newsrooms, fact-checkers, public health professionals, NGOs, and academic institutions, we at Meedan are excited to share some of our misinformation work with the GlobalFacts audience this upcoming June in South Korea.

It will then examine ways these models might increase misinformation inadvertently in general use or be purposely exploited by malicious actors. Finally, the presentation will discuss ways generative AI models could positively contribute to human-led fact-checking efforts. The presentation will be led by Dr. Scott Hale, University of Oxford natural language processing scholar and Director of Research at Meedan.
